Darn Those Cat Cookies…

What a beautiful day it was here in Upstate, wasn’t it?? It was certainly a far cry from what the beginning of the week looked like! 😯

Mother Nature must have known that it’s Friday. 😉

Not only Friday, but Coffee Friday of course!

I just love treating myself to “special” coffee on Fridays. It makes the day seem that much brighter. 🙂

Today’s breakfast actually came from DD’s too; I was kind of rushing this morning, and anything we had in the house that could have been “grab-n-go” really just didn’t sound appealing. So I ended up ordering a Veggie Egg White Flatbread.

It was pretty good, but didn’t totally hit the spot. I really don’t know what my taste buds were craving this morning?

After my workout this morning, I seriously could not stop snacking on these!

The workout, by the way, was a pretty fun one which consisted of a little mix of everything:

Nothing too intense, but I definitely enjoyed the variety!

Maybe that’s what sparked my intense craving for these darn cat cookies??

Lunch today was pretty typical, but totally top notch:

Pumpkin Yogurt – a plain Chobani yogurt, mixed with 1/3 cup canned pumpkin, 1/2 a sliced banana, a spoonful of pumpkin butter, and 2-3 tbsp granola.

Some veggies + hommus (there was a lot more veggies in that baggie…I dug in early)

Later in the afternoon, I snacked on a Gala apple (which was a little mealy…bummer)

And a honey graham Clif Z Bar. It’s been a while since I’ve had one…they’re just so good!

Friday Motivations + A New Fashion Friday!

Happy Friday morning! 😀

Sorry for no follow-up post yesterday evening…that little thing called “life” happened, and I just didn’t have the time. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much…it was a busy day with meals on the run!

So I don’t know what it is, but for some reason, I am so much more motivated to get up and work out on Monday and Friday mornings. Maybe it’s the fact that I know I don’t want to go to the gym in the afternoon on these days, but either way, I’m just glad the motivation is there!

This morning, I woke up bright eyed and bushy-tailed rolled out of bed (I said I was motivated…but I never said I’m good at waking up early! 😉 ) and got to work on a couple videos (one new, one old favorite) from Exercise on Demand:

New: Bootcamp Calorie Burn with Kendell Hogan (30 mins)

  • This video was pretty good. I think it would be suitable for most ability levels, and was actually not too difficult. I was looking for something more cardio based, with constant movement – this video definitely has you constantly moving, but doesn’t have too many intense moves. Not sure if I’ll try it again?

Old: 10lb Slimdown YOGA (24 mins)

  • Love the vinyasa flow with this workout!

I feel like it’s been forever since I last enjoyed some overnight oats, let alone OIAJ. But lucky for me, Jay just recently finished off his jar of PB and I was quick enough to make sure he saved it. Yummmmm.

In the jar:

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin
  • raisins
  • cinnamon & pumpkin pie spice
  • lots of leftover peanut buttery goodness 😉

Of course, no oats would be complete without a little topping! Enter: granola. 😛

I don’t have my mug-o-coffee yet, since it’s Coffee Friday, but I’m pretty sure I’m craving some hazelnut today…we’ll see. Hey, maybe that’s some of my motivation for getting up and moving on Friday mornings?? 🙂

Aaaaand, I actually have a little “Fashion Friday” for you all a little early this morning!

I decided to switch things up a bit from the recent Fashion Fridays, and give you all a little sneak peak today’s outfit, “Before & After” style:

This outfit is obviously lacking something. The shirt (which is NEW from my latest Old Navy purchase!) is just too baggy and does nothing for the figure. And when it comes to skinny leg jeans? Well, not only do the stylish black socks do nothing, but they could definitely be “kicked up a notch,” right?

Look at what a little accessorizing can do! Nipping in at the waist with a simple belt does a world of difference for this shirt! When I first tried it on in the dressing room, I thought it was awful. Luckily, I had a belt in the room with me, and as soon as I put in on…complete transformation!

How ‘bout those boots?? They’re vintage!

And even better yet, they used to be my Mom’s! She gave them to me a couple years ago, saying that they were some of her favorite pairs when she was younger. I don’t get an opportunity to wear them too often, but I thought they’d go great with today’s attire. 🙂

Awesome Friday Workout, Donuts, & Indian Food

I don’t think I can remember the last Saturday morning I was able to spend sleeping in without an alarm and lounging around in my PJ’s. I am LOVING today! 🙂 So far it’s been spent doing both of the above, enjoying some delicious coffee,

So I totally let yesterday’s blogging slip away from me. Before I knew it, it was 9pm and I was absolutely exhausted. BUT, let me fill you in on some of the highlights from my day…

Workout

I got my Friday started out on the right foot with a great workout from Exercise on Demand. I was actually horrified to find out that my recent go-to video, “Rock Hard Total Body Workout” was taken OFF! OH NO?!? 😯 So I quickly scanned through the other videos and was lucky enough to find a winner: Jackie Warner’s Power Circuit. It doesn’t incorporate a whole lot of cardio, but it works each of the major muscle groups individually by doing 3 sets of moves, followed by a “powerburn.” Judging by the absolute, total body soreness I’m feeling today, I’d say it’s definitely worth doing again!

Breakfast was a delicious, healthy treat! A vanilla flavored Chobani, mixed with some pumpkin butter, 1/2 a sliced banana, and 1/2 cup Quaker Oatmeal Squares.

That darn Dunkin’ Donuts!

Being Coffee Friday, I went to get my usual treat of Pumpkin Spice coffee, but since I was going to be specific with my order, I decided to go into the store (going through the drive-through with a specific order is asking for trouble…). Well wouldn’t you know, immediately upon walking in, I spotted Pumpkin Munchkins! 😯 How am I supposed to turn a pumpkin munchkin down??

I’m not. 😉 So I bought 5 (because that’s the only way they’d sell them to me??) – 3 pumpkin & 2 blueberry cake. I enjoyed 2 pumpkin and 1 blueberry, and kindly gave the other 2 away. It’s a good thing I did, since the second half of my day brought me face to face with this:

Yes my friends, that is a delicious, warm, fresh out of the oven cider donut. It was phenomenal, and I wished I had bought a 1/2 dozen, rather than just one. Actually, I don’t. I would have eaten all 6 of them yesterday…and that would not have been good. Either way, it’s pretty obvious I was having a super healthy day. 😉

The reason I was able to enjoy a yummy mid-day cider donut was because my class had a field trip to a local farm/corn maze!

What you see there is a “Right Hand Only Maze” where you could only take right-hand turns to get out. Aaaaand guess who completed it without cheating?? That’s right, THIS GIRL! 😀 I was so proud.

After a long day at the corn maze & pumpkin patch, I was able to wind down with a delicious Indian Buffet Dinner Date with Jen!

I really don’t know what any of this stuff is that I took…but I do know what most of it was pretty darn delicious and I had probably about 3/4 of what you see here.

Plus 2 pieces of naan, which I’ve concluded that I could most definitely eat every day of my life. It’s so good.

Uhhh ohhh, I think I hear the timer on my oven going off…time to go check out my goodies!! Gotta run!

Just Can’t Leave The Bread Alone

Yesterday was a BUSY day for this gal! Did you miss me? 😉

Quick Catch Up:

After work, I headed to the gym for some cardio. I ended up doing an old favorite: 45 minute treadmill walk, followed by 10 mins on the elliptical. I’ve been doing the elliptical for so long because of my foot, that I kind of forgot what a great workout power walking is. WOW! I loved every minute of it. 😀 AND, on top of that, I was able to do complete almost a 1/4 mile running with little discomfort. Looks like we’re getting there, slowly but surely!

After the gym, I had to go and get my car fixed. The muffler was basically about to fall off ( 😯 ) and that would not have been good.

After getting the ‘ol car spruced up, I headed over to The Fresh Market to pick up some more coffee since we were running low, and by the time I got home, I was beat. I pretty much vegged out on the couch for the evening, not doing a whole lot of anything…

It was awesome.

So now I’m ready to conquer my day…rain and all. Ohhh the leaves…… 😳 Does this scene not scream, “Stay at home in your sweats today!”?!?

Well, since that’s not possible, I’ll just have to embrace it. But that’s ok because it’s COFFEE FRIDAY! 😛

And even better, another awesome breakfast is waiting for me. 😀

I debated on having something different from yesterday, but I just couldn’t do it guys. Hey, when you have a loaf of Honey Raisin Banana Pumpkin Bread sitting in your kitchen, you don’t let it go untouched.

Along with my bread, I have a honey flavored Chobani yogurt and another ‘naner. Looks like I better get going on these bananas quick, otherwise somebody’s gonna have to do some more baking…

After work today, I’m heading back to the gym for my first BodyPump class in weeks. After consulting my Workout Log, I realized I haven’t been to one since August 19th! I’m already afraid of what my body will feel like tomorrow. 😯

I can’t stand a green banana, and really don’t like a bright yellow one as much either. I always try to wait until they at least start accumulating a few brown spots. That’s when they’re nice and ripe and sweet. 🙂

Kick Starting My Day The Right Way

It is officially FRIDAY and I couldn’t be more psyched about it!

Actually, I could be a little more psyched…I’ll be psyched at about 4:00 today when the craziness of my day has subsided. 😯

Speaking of craziness, sorry for no post last night guys. 😦 If you read yesterday morning, I had our Open House last night at school, so it was definitely a busy day from 15 hour day…

By the way, thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement yesterday about my nerves. You guys are the best! Once things got rollin’, my nerves actually subsided and everything went very smoothly. It was a success! 🙂

As soon as I got home from the Open House, it was time to start getting things ready for the garage sale. By the time 11pm rolled around, blogging just wasn’t in the cards…

But no worries, I’m BACK today and full of energy! 😀 So full of energy, in fact, that I got up nice and early to kick start my morning with a kick-ass Kickboxing Bootcamp “class” from Exercise on Demand.

I tried this video for the first time earlier in the week, and I’m tellin’ you guys, it’s a GREAT workout. 50 minutes later, and I am one sweaty mess. In a good way, of course. 😉

A quick and easy one this morning, even though I was really craving some pumpkin oats… (maybe for lunch?)

I will actually be in and out of the house today, which is why Jay’s dad is here to help out. I have the day off from work, but it’s for a doctor’s appt. later this morning, plus taking care of a few other orders of business. One of which is QUITE EXCITING and I’ll be sharing that with you later today! 😀

Unfortunately, a lack of preparation last night, meant for a pretty hectic morning. I hate when I do that to myself. 🙄 Luckily, the day turned out to be much smoother than its start.

Here’s some highlights from today’s eats:

Startin’ things off with a little Cookie Friday celebration, a la Tina style. Hey, there’s banana and oats in there…don’t judge. 😉

The celebrations continued with a little Coffee Friday action on my way into work. Pumpkin Spice baby…and alllll was right in the world.

After seeing drooling over Julie’s cottage cheese + pumpkin combo a couple days ago, I finally realized…“DUH, you have all of that in your fridge!”

My combo went a little somethin’ like this:

  • 3/4 cup 1% cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • 2 spoonfuls unsweetened applesauce
  • raisins
  • cinnamon
  • pumpkin pie spice

Then, as I was putting stuff back in the fridge, I saw my lonely Cinnamon Date Manna Bread sitting there…I certainly couldn’t neglect that! What a combo!

I am totally PSYCHED for this Friday…it’s my first “Pay Day Friday” since June! 😯 Now if that’s not a reason to celebrate, then I don’t know what is?!? I’m thinking maybe I’ll celebrate by re-enacting Coffee Friday with a delicious Pumpkin Spice coffee from Dunkin Donuts on my way into work. Yup, I think that’s definitely a plan. 🙂
