Exercise On Demand Rocks

Happy Tuesday! For many of us, it’s back to the grind this morning after a beautiful, long, holiday weekend. Hopefully you woke up feeling bright eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to start your day! πŸ˜‰

I started MY day with a new workout – and WOW was it a good one! Originally, I was hoping to make it to a BodyPump class today, but my schedule just doesn’t work with the gym schedule. So instead, I consulted another good friend of mine – the TV. Now, I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again — if you have Exercise on Demand on your TV and need a new workout – USE IT!

This morning, I did the 4o minute Rock Hard Total Body Workout (if you go looking for it, it’s under the “30 Minute” workouts – even though it’s 40?). It’s actually from “Body By Jake” – do you guys remember him? I’m just glad he wasn’t the instructor. πŸ™‚

It was definitely an intense, full body workout, incorporating 45 second intervals of work, followed by 15 seconds of rest. The instructor, Marco Reed, wasn’t too bad to look at either. πŸ˜‰ I’m sure I’ll be feeling this one tomorrow! If you want to check out what else is available, you can also click here to go to the Exercise on TV website.

Breakfast

Surprisingly enough, after being extremely warm from the workout, I was still craving some oatmeal this morning.

Today’s bowl:

-1/3 cup oats

-1/3 cup vanilla almond milk

-1/3 cup water

-1/2 large banana, smashed style πŸ˜‰

-1/2 tsp vanilla

-cinnamon

Then I topped things off with a new variety of VitaTops: AppleBerry.

This VitaTop was good, but I still really like the BlueBran & Corn varieties the best so far.

The oats also got the all-star treatment with a little dollop of BB. Blizzard Butter makes everything better. πŸ™‚

I actually have to head in to work for a few hours myself this morning, to do some summer curriculum work, and I’m almost running late. OOPS! I’m out the door! πŸ™‚

Question for the Morning:

Have you ever tried a workout video from Exercise on Demand? Would you ever try one?

  1. I have used the OnDemand for workouts and found a couple that I actually enjoyed. It’s something different at least!

  2. i tried a Carmen electra hiphop ondemand once and HATED it! haha maybe i’m just a bad dancer, but i could not follow it lol

love your oats! i only like the chocolaty vitatops & the corn ones. the berry ones have a weird after taste to me?

    • I tried that once before too and hated the workout (if you could even call it that?!?)
I found that I enjoy the berry vitatops much better when crumbled over something – to eat them plain, they can get a little boring.

  3. I LOVE exercise TV. I usually do the yoga workouts but I am beginning to branch out. I actually really enjoy working out at home – especially if I can find a DVD/On Demand workout that is GOOD cardio. Most of the time I end up in the gym or going for a run though because I don’t feel like I get that cardio component.

Do you have any recomendations for good Exercise TV or DVD cardio workouts?

    • I love the workout I did today, and there’s another workout which I think might be a little more intense than this one – also Body By Jake.
There’s a few yoga & pilates ones I like, but I’d have to go back and look at the name. Usually, it’s just trial and error, because I’ve definitely come across some that I did not like!
There’s currently a 10lb slimdown category that I want to try more of – I did the yoga and loved it, so I’m planning on trying the core, upper & lower body workouts too.

  4. That guy looks like a distorted Ryan Reynolds

  5. Have you tried the cran bran one yet? That one is my favorite. I cant wait to try the apple crumble one or whatever it’s called.

I havent tried Exercise on Demand. Im not even sure if my roomie has it!

    • YES! I like that one just as much as the BlueBran – forgot about that one! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to try the new apple crumble – sounds soooo good!

      • I tried the new apple crumble one today and it was very good! I bet it would be delish mixed in with your oatmeal! I might just have to try it! πŸ™‚

  6. I love Exercise on Demand! πŸ™‚

  7. I have tried ExerciseTV. We have OnDemand also, so I definitely take advantage of it. Jackie Warner has a great circuit training on there, and I really like the various yoga & pilates exercises.

  8. I don’t know if I have Exercise on Demand- do you have direct tv? I really need to find out if I do b/c some of the videos/ workouts I have seen on there are great!!

    • I don’t have Direct TV – we have Time Warner Cable here, which I’m sure is probably different for you. If you go to exercisetv.com, you might be able to find out how you could find it on whatever you have!

  9. Good to know about the On Demand options…I feel like a total sloth lately and am thinking about doing a couple workouts a day to get back in shape!

  10. Exercise on Demand is a great way to try out a variety of workouts. I actually discovered a PowerFit routine by Stephanie Huckabee that I LOVED. Unforunately, since Exercise TV rotates their offerings, the PowerFit routine was eventually dropped, but thanks to the experience, I was able to pick up a 5 CD PowerFit set from the web!

  11. I love this workout!!! I’ve done it a few times now and it’s definitely intense, but feels so good afterwards. I actually quit my gym back in January bc all I was doing were OnDemand workouts – so much variety & from the comforts of home, love it.

  12. I haven’t ever used exercise TV….but maybe I should!

  13. I don’t think I even knew exercise on demand existed. I must go home and check! I’d totally do it. xxSAS
